COVID-19 pandemija i socijalna izolacija imala je veliki uticaj na mentalno zdravlje svih, bez izuzetaka. Jedno interesantno istraživanje koje je pratilo mentalne probleme nakon COVID-pandemije nedavno je objavljeno u časopisu Lancet Psychiatry. Veoma je veoma važno jer su uključeni adolescenti i mlade osobe. I da, pandemija jeste ostavila trag na njihovu psihu čak i nakon dužeg vremena od završetka COVID-19 pandemije. Autori su iskoristili podatke SHP ankete (Finnish School Health Promotion) koju su popunjavali đaci/studenti iz Finske starosti 13 – 20 godina. Popunjavali su ankete između 2015 – 2023. godine što je omogućilo da se analizira situacija pre, tokom i posle COVID-19 pandemije. Ispitanici su popunjavali upitnik o anksioznosti (Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale), upitnik o depresiji (Patient Health Questionnaire), upitnik o socijalnoj anksioznosti (Mini Social Phobia Inventory), o mentalnom blagostanju (Short Warwick–Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale), kao i upitnike na osnovu kojih se saznalo o njihovoj usamljenosti, poremećajima ishrane i suicidalnosti. Između 2015 – 2023. godine je uključeno 722.488 ispitanika (51,6% devojčica i 48,4% dečaka), prosečne starosti 15,8 godina. Autori su pri analizi koristili poznate, validirane granične vrednosti upitnika i ustanovili da je tokom COVID-19 pandemije došlo do porasta broja dece sa simptomima generalizovane anksioznosti, depresije i socijalne anksioznosti. Takođe, ovaj broj je ostao povišen i u 2023. godini, što je zabrinjavajuće za mladu populaciju. Analizirajući posebno devojčice, kod njih je zabeležen porast generalizovane anksioznosti, depresije i socijalne anksioznosti od 2021 do 2023. godine. Kod dečaka je zabeležno smanjenje simptoma socijalne anksioznosti između 2021 do 2023. godine što je ohrabrujući nalaz. Međutim, u svim podgrupama je zabeleženo smanjenje mentalnog blagostanja od 2021 – 2023. godine, uz povećanje broja ispitanika sa poremećajem ishrane (kako devojčica tako i dečaka u nižim razredima). Da li je došlo do promene u suicidalnosti? Jeste, ali samo kod devojčica. Kod njih je uočen porast nakon završetka pandemije, što nije registrovano kod dečaka. Istakli bismo jednu stavku koja se poboljšala nakon kraja pandemije – deca su u manjoj meri bila usamljena. Plaši nas što je u 2023. godini čak 72,6% devojčica, odnosno 32,8% dečaka navelo da ima barem jedan mentalni problem. Nadamo se da su potražili stručnu pomoć. A ovaj rad nas podseća da iako je gotova, COVID-19 pandemija ostavlja psihičke posledice kod mladih i poziva na skrining i/ili pažljivo praćenje.
